Message: Saw the stand at the bike show at the kingshal on sunday and i swear it was so hard not to brek down and cry... I got a pin badge of his helmet - only small thing but means the world to me. One of the best Ireland has produced and i dont think I will ever come to terms with it. Miss u big lad!

I would also like to pass on my condolences to Paul Leonards family and friends on Pauls tragic death yesterday while out on a fundraising run for Richards family. Paul was Richards friend and a loyal and valued member of his race team. RIP

Message: I was so saddened to hear about the tragic death of Richard last month and I'd like to extend my sympathies and thoughts to all his family and friends.

I was in the main grandstand for the 2005 Seniors race at the TT and remember well how he fought his way back up the leaderboard after his chain problems. He was a great rider and from what I've read here and on other websites he was also a great husband and father.
